A man received first aid treatment at his house from firefighters after a blaze caused by a boiler.

Crews from Hyndburn and Haslingden were called to Sandy Lane in Accrington at around 5.20pm on Monday, April 20. A fire service spokesperson said there was severe fire damage to the boiler and smoke damage to the kitchen and the rest of the property.

The male occupant received treatment at the scene before the ambulance crews arrived and he declined to go to hospital.
