Hold onto your hat... there’s more snow on the way on Friday night.

The Met Office say there will be wintry showers during the evening, followed by heavy snow which is due to set in at about 11pm.

The snow is then due to turn to rain, with heavy showers predicted to fall until about 4am.

There’s a yellow weather warning in place from about 4pm today right up until 12pm on Saturday, the Met Office warn.

It will feel bitterly cold, too, according to forecasters, as temperatures dip to a freezing -4 °C. later on this evening.

And on Saturday, expect a cold and frosty start, but it should be a lot drier than today, with plenty of sunshine.

Most of Hyndburn woke up to a blanket of the white stuff this morning, after snow showers hit yesterday night.
