The time has come again to recognise sporting achievements in the borough for the Hyndburn Sports Awards.
The ceremony recognises people, teams, schools and clubs within the community who put their all into their sports.
Now entering its 12th year, the awards, which are organised by Hyndburn Leisure, celebrates the achievements in sport of local people, from coaches, athletes, volunteers, teams, clubs and schools across the borough.
Last year’s Lifetime Achievement award winner Alan Greenwood will be on the judging panel for this year’s awards.
Alan said he is urging everyone involved in sport in any capacity across Hyndburn to nominate a person, team, club or school who they think deserves an award.
He said: “I was delighted to receive an award last year.
“Having been involved in football locally for as long as I can remember, I know there are hundreds of people across Hyndburn who deserve to be recognised for their efforts and achievements in sport.
“The awards ceremony last year was fantastic and I look forward to seeing this year’s deserving winners.”
The categories recognise people across all aspects of sport in the borough.
Guests at last year’s event were entertained by Olympic silver medalist Ian Peel.
This year’s event will take place on Friday, September 18 at 7pm at Accrington Town Hall.
Nominations will close on June 20.
Categories include Adult Volunteer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Community Club of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Primary School of the Year, Secondary School of the Year, Inspire Award, Services to Disability Sport and Team of the Year.
