Here is an exclusive sneak peek of a new pub set to open this week following a £340,000 transformation.

The Hyndburn Bridge pub between Clayton-le-Moors and Great Harwood will reopen at 12noon on Friday, October 2 creating up to 30 full and part-time jobs.

The Observer revealed in August how Heineken-owned Star Pubs and Bars had renovated the ‘tired local’ and renamed it ‘The Hyndburn Restaurant and Bar’.

It will be run by couple and parents-of-three Stuart and Melanie Blackledge who have run a popular deli in Blackburn for the last eight years and between them have more than 25 years’ experience.

Stuart told the Observer: “Everything has gone according to plan and on schedule.

“We think it looks fabulous and can’t wait to open.”

The former derelict pub has been given a ‘complete overhaul’ of the interior and exterior and includes a ‘theatre-style pizza preparation area’ so customers can see their pizzas being made.

The pub on Whalley Road will be open from 12pm to 11pm on Sunday to Thursday and 12noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
