A man exposed himself to a woman in broad daylight as she walked near a wooded area where children have been known to play.

The lady was walking along a cut through close to Winterly Drive when she turned round and saw a male exposing himself.

DS Julie Cross, of Accrington CID, said she is concerned by the rising number of exposure offences in Hyndburn.

She added: "It happened at 1.30pm on Friday, May 31, close to an area where kids play. It is a concern for us. There seems to be a number of offences that have taken place over the past few weeks. We would urge people to report it to us as soon as possible so we can look into it. It gives us much more chance of catching the culprits."

The offender is described as white, in his late 20s, with a medium build with short light brown hair and wearing a white t-shirt.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
