Pupils from Baxenden St John’s CE Primary School put in a stellar performance in the final of the British Schools Biathlon Competition.
Four pupils, along with PE subject leader Nicola Baynes, travelled to London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to represent the school.
Matthew Boyd, from year 6, and Sam Fenton, from year 5, took part in the under-11 age group, while Joshua Bayne, year 5, and George Lee, year 5, were in the under-10s. Matthew swam well, finishing 12th overall in his age group and when adding this to his run points he finished 95th nationally.
Sam, Joshua and George all improved on their original rankings to notch up personal bests in both the run and the swim. Sam was 93rd, Joshua 36th and George 61st.
