An international singing star sent a personalised video message as the perfect surprise for a fan’s 100th birthday.
Country and Irish folk singer Daniel O’Donnell recorded the message for huge fan Doris Stanczyk after a request from friends.
Mrs Stanczyk, of Walmsley Street, Great Harwood, was shown the video greeting after enjoying two birthday parties on the same day.

“I will be celebrating and thinking of you. Enjoy your day with all your family and friends. Very, very happy birthday.”
Former Oxo worker Mrs Stanczyk joined around 100 fellow members of Trinity URC Methodist Luncheon Club and special guest Hyndburn Mayor Judith Addison for a special birthday party. She received flowers and a Daniel O’Donnell DVD. Friends wore Daniel O’Donnell masks before taking part in a sing-along.
Eileen Bridge, who is secretary of the luncheon club, began contacting the singer and TV presenter in April about the birthday message and received the video via email.
She said: “Doris has been a fervent fan of Daniel for many years, especially since his birthday is on the same day as hers.
“A few days later I received the enclosed video message which Doris was thrilled to receive. Doris is such a wonderful person.”
After the first birthday party she went to Bank Mill House Senior Citizens Club for buffet and a
