A social enterprise charity which helps vulnerable people in Hyndburn has been boosted with a new van supplied by the council.
Community Solutions North West (CSNW), based at Elmfield Hall in Church, supports more than 1,500 people every month and services include befriending, food bank, allotments, training, sporting projects, family solutions and community repaint projects.
Hyndburn council has now supplied a van to the charity to help it run many of its services.
Coun Munsif Dad, cabinet member for health and communities, said the van will help them ‘in lots of ways’ including helping them collect more donated food from local individuals, schools and companies.
He said: “CSNW carry out excellent work, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community and so we are glad to be able to help with the van donation, to help them support more people in need.”
Mark Hirst, of CSNW, said it will be a ‘massive help’ and a ‘huge boost to many of our operations’ including the food bank, Community RePaint initiative and distributing freshly made food from their allotments.
