Four talented footballers from Accrington Stanley’s Development Squad have been selected to represent the county as part of a team of 16.

Goalkeeper Harry Wissett, defender Jack Ncube, midfielder Mo Sangare and striker Jack Foster were all successfully selected after taking part in numerous trial games, in partnership with Accrington and Rossendale College.

They will all now have the opportunity to represent Lancashire against East Riding FA.

David Bailey, head of recruitment at Accrington Stanley, said: “This is a great honour for the boys and also the club and college to have four boys from the development squad selected.

“This programme is still in its infancy but this recognition from the Lancashire FA shows how far we have come together in a very short time.

“I am sure on behalf of the college and the club we wish the boys all the best for the game and there future ahead.”

Mr Bailey said the players will have a chance to go on to gain a ‘prestigious county cap’ if they make five appearances.

They also have an opportunity to be selected for England international honours.
