Ten firefighters have attended a blaze at an industrial unit in Accrington.

A rubber shredding machine caught fire at a property on Chester Street at around 3pm on Tuesday, April 14. Two fire engines attended and it took an hour and half to extinguish the blaze.

Crew manager Alistair Cameron said: “Breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras were used as the property was smoke logged. Two house reels were used and then fire fighters dismantled the unit to make sure the fire hadn’t spread.”
