UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage visited Hyndburn today for a business conference.

The meeting for North West businesses was held at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors.

Mr Farage, who is also a Member of the European Parliament, spoke to delegates along with senior UKIP colleagues Paul Nuttall MEP, and councillors Stuart Hutton and Louise Bours.

It was aimed at discussing UKIP's views on business ahead of the next election.

UKIP is understood to be planning a big push in Lancashire at this year's local elections on May 22.

Mr Farage has hit the headlines in recent weeks after attacking media coverage of one of the party's councillors who claimed the government's decision to legalise gay marriage had caused the recent floods.
