Brides and grooms-to-be are set to beat a path to Accrington Town Hall next month for the venue’s first ever ‘Hollywood meets Bollywood’ style wedding fair.
The Grade II listed hall, which dates back to 1858, will host the event after undergoing a £750,000 restoration.
Organisers said the venue, which includes two bars and a fully sprung dance floor, can host up to 300 people for a wedding reception and is being tipped as ‘one of east Lancashire’s hottest new wedding reception venues’.
The wedding fayre will feature two catwalk shows showcasing a selection of the finest traditional, contemporary and Asian gowns available in the North West, from Anne Whittaker Bridal and main event sponsor Bee’s Boutique, with live entertainment from acoustic vocalist Alex Birtwell.
Essence Hair and Make-Up & Photography will also be running demonstrations on the day.
To celebrate the first ever wedding fair, there will be an exclusive discount of 30 per cent off the cost of venue hire for the first ten couples who book on the day to hold their wedding reception there – a saving of £500 off the standard price.
Kerry Smith, cultural services manager at Hyndburn Leisure, said: “Hollywood glitz will meet Bollywood glamour right here in Accrington when our two spectacular bridal runway shows take place at our first ever ballroom wedding fayre. It’s an absolute must for engaged couples across the region.
“The ballroom is the ideal backdrop for weddings of all kind, and we’ll be giving couples lots of inspiration for their special day, as well as an exclusive discount on the venue to help keep budgets down.
“Our exhibitors have got it all covered – dresses, hair, beauty, transport, flowers, entertainment, favours, even hen and stag ideas.”
