Schoolchildren sang carols and songs at the official opening of a newly refurbished post office.
The pupils from Mount Pleasant and All Saints primary schools in Clayton-le-Moors joined with Hyndburn Mayor Judith Addison, Graham Jones MP, Post Office representatives and dozens of residents for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The new-look branch, on Pickup Street, has undergone an £80,000 refurbishment over the past few months as part of a modernisation programme.
Owner Zafar Ali said: “I am delighted with the new look post office. It's very open, spacious and looks very modern and our customers love it.”
Michael Larking, Post Office general manager of the agency network, said he was delighted with facility in Clayton.
He said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in this part of Accrington and are confident that this modern open plan post office will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
Mr Jones urged people to make use of the Post Office ahead of Small Business Saturday on December 7.
Speaking after the opening on November 29, he said: “Post offices are the hub of the community and it's great to see work done here in Clayton as it has a lovely village feel to it.
“Next weekend is Small Business Saturday and it's about everybody getting behind them and backing small businesses and shopping local.”
