THE Stanley side Dagenham & Redbridge will face on Saturday will be very different to that they took on when they last visited the Store First Stadium.

The Daggers have been victorious on their last two trips to Accrington, winning 2-1 here last October .

But it wasn’t the scoreline that alarmed Stanley fans the last time they visited, it was the manner in which they scored their two goals.

The Reds’ defence was all at sea as their winless start in League Two stretched into double figures.

James Beattie eventually shored things up and led Stanley to safety, but the Reds have kicked on again since John Coleman’s return.

Three straight wins have lifted the Reds to 11th place , while the Daggers are 19th after winning one of their last eight.

Although Accy haven’t won in their last five meetings, the Daggers lost 2-0 to Leyton Orient in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night and 2-1 at home to Exeter last Friday, despite veteran Jamie Cureton’s fifth goal of the season.

Stanley defenders Adam Buxton (thigh) and Michael Liddle (ankle and knee) are not yet back in contention but Coleman can welcome striker James Gray back from a three-match suspension.

The Reds’ top scorer returned to action in their Lancashire Senior Cup defeat by Manchester United on Tuesday night . Anthony Barry also played and the midfielder is available to face the Daggers having re-joined the Reds on loan on Wednesday.
