Enfield swoop for South African Brad

Enfield have swooped to sign South African all-rounder Brad Moses as their professional for next season after Werner Coetsee had to pull out.

Coetsee was a star for Enfield, who finished joint third in the Lancashire League, last year and was due back at Dill Hall Lane but a personal situation means he can’t return.

“Last year his wife-to-be quit her job to come over and they were due to get married in March,” said Enfield’s David Bracewell.

“However they have changed states since last year, his marriage has been delayed slightly and the company where she works won’t hold her job open for her if she comes over for the summer so it’s pure family reasons, which we understand.”

So Enfield have snapped up all-rounder Moses, 29, who was due to sign for Lancashire League rivals Bacup last season but there were visa problems.

“He didn’t have Level Two coaching but he has got that now and has played over in England a number of times,” continued Bracewell.

“He has never finished outside the top three when he has played over here so hopefully we can repeat that.

“He is a safe bet and I am sure he will do well for us.

“He is a batsman who bowls a bit of spin which will suit the new rules.”
