RISHTON are hoping to snap up the services of Southern Australian Mark Cosgrove for the rest of the season.

Their Aussie pro Aaron Heal had to return home on Tuesday with a knee injury, leaving the Blackburn Road side facing the prospect of sub professionals for the rest of the season.

But all-rounder Cosgrove, who has just been released by Glamorgan and has a good pedigree having played One-Day internationals, will play tomorrow for Rishton and chairman Alan Craven is looking at him filling in for the rest of the season. "We are hoping he will sign," said the chairman. "Time will tell but we have offered him a deal."

RISHTON’S Second XI are in semi-final cup action at home to Rawtenstall on Sunday.
