2009 champions Baxenden overwhelmed Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, who were dismissed for just 33 in the Houldsworth Ribblesdale League opener on Saturday.
Bash opener Callum Waddington top-scored with 44 in their low-scoring 136 with Immanuel’s bowler Imran Abid taking seven wickets.
However Bash pro Baber Naeem ripped through the Ossie order, claiming 6-13 for the vistors as only Oliver Clare got into double figures with 17 and there were five ducks. Lewis McIntosh got all the other wickets.
Great Harwood had a losing start as Read romped to a 10-wicket win. Stuart Hornby made an immediate impact for his new club, claiming 8-39 as Harwood were bowled out for 92 and then he made an unbeaten 62.
Meanwhile Church paid-man Saeed Anwar, standing in at Barnoldswick, scored 78 as the Victory Park side defeated Padiham by 63 runs.
