Around 200 new jobs are set to be created by one of Hyndburn’s biggest employers.

Express Gifts, based on Mill Street, in Church, have announced plans to recruit around 200 people in the run up to Christmas. The new roles will be based at the direct mail order business contact centre in Clayton-le-Moors.

An Express Gifts spokesperson said: “The run up to Christmas is always the busiest time of year for us at Express Gifts, and this year we are delighted to have recently published our largest ever Studio and Ace Autumn/Winter catalogues.

“As such, the customer services department is now looking to recruit around 200 people to support us at our contact centre in Clayton.

“These employees will be responsible for taking orders from customers and also responding to any customer enquiries and emails.”

Hyndburn council leader and Miles Parkinson welcomed the plans.

He said: “Any job vacancies at this time are welcomed within Hyndburn. We hope Express Gifts fulfil the vacancies from the local people in the area.

“We wish all our business to expand and create more jobs.
