STANLEY'S woeful home form continued as they have now failed to win in six league games at the FES as they slipped to a loss against play-off chasing Stockport.

The Reds only had one real chance - a Paul Mullin header on 14 minutes which was wide - and County's new keeper John Ruddy wasn't tested throughout the whole 90 minutes.

"We weren't good enough," said Coleman who kept his players in the dressing room for a while after the final whistle. "They were better than us and it is alarming that their keeper hasn't had a save to make.

"We have worked our socks, we are better organised but we are still giving silly goals away. The team looks short of confidence at the moment."

County took the lead when Shaleum Logan floated in a free kick which Liam Dickinson headed home on 32 minutes.

Keeper Kenny Arthur kept out a Michael Rose penalty in the second half but, on 63 minutes, Dickinson secured his double with a wonder goal from the edge of the area.

"Too many of our players had off days," added Coleman, with striker Andy Mangan making his second Stanley debut off the bench. "They came and did a job on us."

The Reds boss has promised though that there will be a new defender in ahead of Tuesday night's home game against Brentford.
