TWO goals in three minutes meant Accrington slipped to a second successive league loss on Saturday against early league leaders Exeter.

Stanley had the upper hand for most of the game and took the lead through Paul Mullin on 58 minutes.

The striker made up for an earlier penalty miss after Gary Roberts had been felled in the area by Glenn Cronin but Paul Jones pushed away Mullin's placed spot kick.

Mullin, however, opened his account for the season after Roberts' cross found the hitman at the near post and he fired home.

Stanley could have doubled the lead through Andy Mangan and David Brown but were made to rue the missed chances when a long ball forward wasn't cleared by Robbie Williams and Craig Watkins nipped in to loop the ball over keepeer Darren Randolph's head on 68 minutes.

And three minutes later and Billy Jones corner was headed home by defender Chris Todd to seal the win. Randolph had to pull off a couple of stunning saves to keep the score at two.

"They were two mistakes by Rocky and the lad is devastated," said boss John Coleman. "But they are the top of the league. Are they better than us? I don't think so. That is some of the best football we have played this season."
