ACCRINGTON Stanley extended their unbeaten run to 10 games and moved up to sixth place in the Conference with victory over bottom club Farnborough.

It was a dream start for the Reds who opened the scoring after just four minutes when Lutel James set up Paul Mullin who tapped home his sixth goal of the campaign.

Stanley made it two when a short Paul Cook free kick was fired home from 20-yards by Peter Cavanagh on 14 minutes. However Farnborough, who haven't won in 14 games, came back with a spectacular acrobatic goal from Billy Beall just four minutes later.

Town had a couple of long range efforts while both Andy Procter and Rory Prendergast tested Town keeper Mark Osborn after the break.

However, Stanley made it three when James was brought down in the area by ken Charlery on 64 minutes. The hitman took the spot kick himself and made it nine for the season. Charlery was then sent off on 67 minutes for a second bookable offence after a tackle on James.

"If the penalty had been given against us I would have been mad," said boss John Coleman. "But it is swings and roundabouts as we haven't been awarded some we should have.

"It was good to get the win and we will worry about the performance afterwards. At times we were breathtakingly good at other times distinctly average. We need to get some consistency."
