Although Saturday’s result on the pitch against Notts County was disappointing, it was still an amazing day for one lucky boy.
Declan Penaluna celebrated his seventh birthday by coming on Winstanley’s matchday club with his friends before becoming mascot for the Coca Cola League Two match.
This gave him the chance to have a kick around on the pitch prior to the match and then run out onto the pitch with his favourite player, Jimmy Ryan.
To cap the day off, Declan then enjoyed the match in the family section of the ground and will receive photos of the day and a personalised photo from Jimmy.
If this is something you fancy doing why not contact the Community Team and let us either arrange for you to come on our Matchday club or be a mascot for the next home match.
The Girls Development Centre is now starting to really take off with the help of Accy Ladies who have been sending girls from their teams to get extra training from Elite level coaches.
Last Friday was a fantastic turnout of 12 girls and we are hoping this now continues over the coming weeks.
We are still welcoming more players to come to New Era on Monday evenings for our development centres. Just to remind you these are 5-6pm for five-to-seven-year-olds; 6-7pm for goalkeepers aged five-14-years-old and then finished off with eight-to-12-year-olds from 7-8pm.
The Tuesday night Redz club has continued to grow and 23 children came this week for the first week in the March Points league.
All children get five points for attending and another five if they bring a friend. With points being awarded to all for participation, including designing new posters as well as team or individual games, it’s a really fun two hours.
At the end of March all points scored will then mean prizes so those who attended this week have made a massive start to the leaderboard.
We look forward to seeing you all at one of our activities soon.
