STANLEY will be looking anxiously over their shoulders after slipping to their seventh league defeat in nine matches.
The 17th placed Reds - who have dropped to eight points off the relegation zone - were once again unable to take their chances and in-form Brentford punished them.
Stanley's Andy Todd hit the post in the first 15 minutes and Ryan Dickson found the woodwork from a free kick for the home side in a lively opening.
But it was Andy Scott's team who drew first blood on 33 minutes when top scorer Glenn Poole got on the end of Ricky Shakes' cross.
The Reds soon equalised though when Shaun Whalley, who was the main dangerman for the Reds, played in a superb ball which Ian Craney tapped over the line on 39 minutes.
However, on the stroke of half-time, the Reds failed to clear a corner and ex-Burnley defender Matt Heywood headed over the line.
Whalley hit the woodwork again just after the re-start but Alan Connell punished Stanley by adding the third.
