BRETT Ormerod has wished his old team all the best in the most famous football competition in the world.

The Southampton striker, who notched up 32 goals for the Reds in 40 matches, knows what it feels like to have the eyes of the nation on you, as he played in the FA Cup final earlier this year.

He told the Observer: "It's a massive game for Stanley but Huddersfield are only one league above them so it's not too bad. Having a packed ground is going to help Stanley big-time."

Brett, 26, will be shouting for the Reds on Sunday after the club set him on the road to success with Blackpool and then Southampton. He said: "I'm going to watch the match on TV. I've tried to go and see Stanley when I can but it's difficult on match days.''

Brett comes from Great Harwood and his parents Valerie and Glynn live in Oak Close, Rishton. He played in the FA Cup at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in May, almost scoring what would have been an equalising goal.

He added: "It's great the TV cameras will be there as it will bring Accrington Stanley to the masses. But everyone knows it's the most famous non-league club in the world."
