If Andy Procter starts tomorrow he will become only the second player to chalk up his 400th appearance for the Reds – and join close friend Paul Mullin in the elite Accrington ‘400 club’.

Procter signed for Accrington in 2001 from Great Harwood Town for, he jokes, ‘a few washers’.

Although he missed the Reds’ first season in the Conference through injury, he has played the majority of seasons and was made captain more than two seasons ago.

"Proc has been great for us and to get to 400 appearances at one club is a great achievement – it doesn’t happen a lot nowadays," said boss John Coleman.

"I don’t think when I signed him as an 18-year-old he thought he would be here that long but neither did I!

"But he’s a good player, he is great in the dressing room and you know what you get out of him. He is whole-hearted and I think we miss him more when he doesn’t play as you see his true value."
