DAN Jewell has been following Accrington Stanley all season for local radio station 2BR and he has got a lot of Reds fans to tune in thanks to his enthusiastic style. He gives his top 10 goals from the season, in chronological order.
1 STANLEY 2 HEREFORD 1
David Brown - All of a sudden, Friday football seemed worthwhile when Brown acrobatically converted from a corner on the left, firing an overhead kick from close range into the top left corner and giving the Reds all three points.
2 GRAYS ATHLETIC 1 STANLEY 2
Paul Mullin - A goal for the cameras. Gary Roberts made defender Andy Sambrook look silly with an audacious trick down the left before whipping the ball in low. Mullin was lurking, and side footed past the keeper to open the scoring.
3 Steve Jagielka- The midfielder is King of the volley. This one, against Grays, was from Andy Mangan's left wing cross from the edge of the box to end Grays unbeaten start.
4 STANLEY 2 FOREST GREEN ROVERS 0
Steve Jagielka - Jaggers again, this time in front of the Clayton End. The Forest Green keeper's clearance from a corner was poor, and Jagielka hammered the ball into the top left corner from the edge of the box.
5 EXETER CITY 1 STANLEY 3
Gary Roberts - A Roberts special, just for the TV cameras. A curling free kick from 20 yards after Ian Craney's touch which left the keeper no chance.
6 Gary Roberts - A classic Stanley counter attack at Exeter. A sweeping passing move found Craney on the right, who instinctively fed the unmarked winger. Roberts made no mistake, and lashed a ferocious left foot drive past Paul Jones to make it 3-0.
7 STANLEY 2 MORECAMBE 0
Andy Todd - Another televised cracker. Todd received the ball on the right and ran at the defence, unleashing a low rasper into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box.
8 Paul Mullin - Sublime improvisation from Mullin, who capitalised on a defensive mix-up between goalkeeper Steven Drench and defender Darran Kempson, to convert from a seemingly impossible angle down the left flank. This one gets better every time you see it.
9 CRAWLEY TOWN 0 STANLEY 1
Gary Roberts - The most entertaining thing at the Broadfield Stadium was a pitch invasion, until Roberts powered the ball over the goalkeeper from the right to claim his 10th Conference strike of the campaign.
10 STANLEY 2 GRAYS ATHLETIC 3
Ian Craney - An exocet from Craney, who ran down the left and rocketed home a 25-yarder.
And one unforgettable own goal…
STEVENAGE 3 STANLEY 1
Robbie Williams - It was the perfect example of weighting a chip from Rocky, who deftly lifted the ball from 25 yards to execute a perfect chip over the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, his OWN goalkeeper!
