Ian Craney is delighted to be locking horns with two of his friends after Accrington were drawn at home to League One side Scunthorpe in the first round of the Carling Cup.

"Obviously Bobby Grant is there and my mate Mark Duffy also plays there so there will be plenty of banter in the build-up to that one, " said Craney, with the tie due to be played on week commencing August 8.

"We wanted a home draw and I am confident we can beat them at home. Their boss Alan Knill will know all about our club but I do fancy us in that."

Chief executive Rob Heys said: "We wanted a home tie and I think the last time we played Scunthorpe was at Turf Moor almost 20 years ago in the FA¿Cup so it’s been a while. They were good to deal with when they signed Bobby Grant from us and it’s one we look forward to. It’s the first fixture of the 2011/12 season we can put in our books."
