ACCRINGTON Stanley have signed Rochdale's Northern Ireland striker Lee McEvilly on a one month loan deal.

The young hitman will be eligible to play for the Reds in tonight's home clash with Tamworth.

Boss John Coleman has been chasing McEvilly since he was at Burscough when Accrington made a £10,000 bid for him. However he signed for Rochdale for £20,000 in December 2001, where he has made over 75 appearances, scoring 26 goals.

He has made two full international appearances for Northern Ireland and has been a regular in the Under 21 squad.

"The reserve games at Rochdale are infrequent so this is a good chance for Lee to get some games under his belt and also a good chance for me to see him play," said Dale boss Steve Parkin. "It is a good deal for Lee, Rochdale and Accrington Stanley."
