Leam Richardson was expected to have signed midfielder Amine Linganzi by Thursday.

The 23-year-old will sign on a free transfer until the end of the season, with Stanley awaiting Football League ratification.

Six foot one midfielder Linganzi was at Blackburn Rovers from 2010 until January of this year – having also had a loan spell at Preston but injury hampered him – after being snapped up by Sam Allardyce from St Etienne.

He has one cap for Congo and has been training with the Reds for a few weeks.

Linganzi said: “It was an easy decision for me to come here because I didn’t play a lot of games at Blackburn and I had a lot of injuries for about a year and a half to two years.

“Now I just need to be focused, keep my head down and play regular football.

“There is a big difference between League Two and the Premier League but today it doesn’t matter to me. I need to play and enjoy my life and enjoy my job.

“The first day I was here I felt like I’d been playing with them for a long time.

“I was really happy to be here and I spoke to the manager and he was happy to speak to me. The players were great with me and I’m really happy to be involved with the team.

“Today in football there isn’t any logic. You can be the best team in the world and play against a lower team and you can lose the game.

“When I watched the game against Southend Accrington had a lot of chances and now we have to work harder and take chances. I’m hopeful we won’t go down.”

Skipper Luke Joyce is pleased to have another face on board to help the Reds push out of the bottom two.

“Amine Linganzi is a real presence and is a big strong lad who hopefully can make a difference,” he said.

“He has got a good pedigree having been at Blackburn and at Preston and he will be a good addition.”

Linganzi goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s clash with Cheltenham while Charlie Barnett sits out the final game of his three-match ban and Craig Lindfield is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile Bohan Dixon has gone out to Evo-Stik side Marine to get some games under his belt.
