RISHTON UNITED: The Under eights Blue battled hard against Readstone in the North Valley League but lost 6-0. Rishton were 5-0 down at the break but, in the second half, they created some good chances.

The Under 11s lost 5-1 to third placed Colne who opened up a three point gap on Rishton who are fifth.

In the Training 2000 Accrington and District League, the Under nines - in fifth place - beat fourth placed St Josephs 3-2 while the Under 10s were 6-0 losers to Wilpshire Wanderers.

The Under 11s Red lost 5-3 at Clitheroe Wolves Blue. Rishton trailed 4-0 at half-time and also had a penalty saved. But the second half was better with Ryan Cothliff immediately grabbing one back. Brad Morris and Charlie Feeney scored two more but they did not take anymore of their chances.

The Under 14s Blue drew 3-3 with league champions Clitheroe Wolves in the final game of the season. It was a good result as Clitheroe ran away with the league with 18 games, 17 wins and one draw prior to kick off. Lee Woollam opened the scoring for Rishton while keeper James Frankland kept them out at the other end until Joe Dunn made it 1-1. Lee Woollam made it 2-1 but Clitheroe soon made it all-square again at half-time. Clitheroe went ahead after the break before Hassan Akatar finished off a superb move to end the scoring. Referee’s MOTM was Reece Harwood while Rishton’s MOTM was Kyle Driver.

AGSA: The Under 12s drew 2-2 with Brierfield - coming from two goals behind. AGSA stepped up a gear after the break and got one back when POTM Carrie Ingham fired home. The equaliser came when Laura Starkie picked up the ball in her own half and ran three quarters of the field to finish well. Manager’s POTM was Jodie Higham.

CHURCH: The Under 10s lost 4-1 to Clitheroe Wolves Red in their final game of the season. Daniel Preston was on target for Church.

HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under 14s had a great win as, with only 10 men, they beat Blue Star 7-1. The goals were scored by Bradley Herbert (two) and one each from Elliott Neil, Ryan Pearson, Josh Lishman, Brendon Barski and Andy Eaton. Manager’s MOTM was Jake Whitehead while Referee’s MOTM was Josh Lishman

GREAT HARWOOD ROVERS: This was to be most of the Under 16s last game in a Great Harwood shirt and they were determined to go out with a bang. And Harwood didn’t disappoint against the league champions Whalley. Whalley started the scoring before Harwood replied through Jordan Allen. Whalley went in front again making it 2-1 at half-time. After the break, Allen made it 2-2 and then Harwood took the lead through Jack Aldred. Whalley then scored two quick goals to make it 4-3. MOTM Allen then claimed his hat-trick side footing the ball past the keeper before Jamie Slater scored a bizarre goal - it hit a divet and bobbled over the keeper to put Harwood 5-4 up. Just when Harwood thought they had won it, Whalley broke the offside trap and scored an equaliser to make it 5-5 at the end.

Meanwhile, the Under 11s needed a win to secure third place against Bromley Cross. And they delivered it in style with one of the best performances of the season so far. Reagan Bolton smashed the ball home before Bromley equalised.Bradley Allen restored the lead with a 20 yard strike making it 2-1 at the break. Bolton then scored two more to celebrate his hat-trick and make it 4-1. The fifth goal was from Karl Sutton while Arron Phillipson made the final score 6-1.

Saturday’s Under 11s drew 2-2 with Rossendale Valley with both goals coming from Sam Jones.

GREYHOUND FORD: On Monday night, Greyhound Ford entertained fifth placed Rishton United who had earlier beaten them 5-2. The match started with Greyhound attacking and they where awarded a penalty which top scorer Ben Knowles stuck away in to the top corner. Greyhound didn't stop there and kept pushing with Knowles doubling his tally. Owen Krishan then grabbed his third of the season just before half-time.  Rishton got one back with the last kick of the game but Greyhound ran out worthy 3-1 winners. Referee’s MOTM was Ben Knowles and Manager’s MOTM was Kyle Mason. The Under 15s remain in second spot after a 5-1 win over Great Harwood Town. Andrew Moores bagged a hat-trick with Tom Anderton and Daniel Baker scoring one each. Matthew Parkinson took the Referee’s MOTM.
