STANLEY picked up £35,000 for their hastily arranged televised FA Cup replay with League One side Tranmere Rovers last night.

The first round replay at Prenton Park was moved from next Tuesday to last night after television channel Setanta offered the cash to show the game live.

The original match last Saturday finished goalless with the winners set to travel to League One side Peterborough on Saturday 29 November in the second round.

"With the financial situation at the club it was too good an offer to turn down," said manager John Coleman.

"You have to make some sacrifices and playing Thursday-Saturday will be hard but you have to get on with it."

If Stanley got through, they also pocketed £20,000 in prize money.
