Double hero Padraig Amond is superstitious – but the moustache is still coming off!

The 23-year-old has been growing his tash for Movember – to raise awareness and money for male cancer charities – and was determined it would be removed at midnight on November 30.

But he came off the bench to score two late goals against Dagenham in the 3-0 win on Saturday and become the first Reds player to score a brace in a match this season with the tash in place.

"I am superstitious so it is a bit of a dilemma but I think it has to come off," said Amond (celebrating, right), who is now the Reds’ top scorer with four for the season.

"I have been called John Aldridge and Barry Chuckle but I am glad to have raised some money for a good cause.

"It's nice to score a couple of goals. We are unbeaten in four and have to keep going.

"Peter Murphy was our top scorer with three goals before his three-match ban and I said to him that, by the time he comes back, I will be top scorer and so I am glad to do that!"
