JUNIOR FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: OSSY Rangers Under nines lost 4-0 in the cup against Langho with MOTM Niall Lathom.

The Under 10s won 3-0 against Mellor with Tommy Parker (two) and Harriet Swindells on the scoresheet. MOTM was goalkeeper Dylan Thompson.

The Under 14s won 7-2 with two goals each for Tommy English and Conor Panaro and one each for Dean Martin, Jack Simpson and MOTM Joe Leeming.

HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under nines were 7-1 winners over Wilpshire Wanderers Red while the Under 10s were 1-0 victors over Whalley. Goalkeeper Callum Nixon made some good saves with the only goal coming after a good flowing move when Henry Hindle found Archie Twist whose cross was turned in by Max Verlander. Referee’s MOTM was Max Verlander while Manager’s MOTM was Joel Fox.

The Under 10 Allstars ran out 4-1 winners over Belthorn United. They were trailing early on but got back into it through Kean De Gouveia. Callum Savage then converted a penalty to make it 2-1 at half-time. They then scored two quick goals near the end through Jack Beech and another from MOTM Savage.

The Under 10s Badgers celebrated a 5-1 win over Red league leaders Rossendale United to reach the semi-final of the cup. The Badgers took a deserved lead after an unstoppable first time volley from Lewis Eccles from Max Verlander’s corner. Rossendale levelled before half-time. Rowan Holden rifled a superb effort into the bottom right hand corner to put the Badgers ahead and then Lewis Eccles, in a one-on-one with the advancing keeper, made it 3-1. Tom Sumner’s deflected effort made it four before Verlander set up Sumner to complete the scoring. Manager’s MOTM was Lewis Eccles.

The Under 11s lost 10-0 to Great Harwood Rovers while the Under 12s lost 6-1 to Baxenden Villa. Zac Bannan scored for Huncoat in a first half which was even and then Baxenden took control. MOTM was Tom Price.

The Under 13s lost 6-0 to Darwen FC while the Under 14s ran out 3-0 winners over Oswaldtwistle St Mary's.

The Under 15s celebrated a 4-0 win over Globe Bullough Park while the Under 16s beat Pendle Forest 4-0.

ST JOSEPH'S: The Under 14s continued their recent good run of form defeating Barrowford Celtic 3-2. The Saints raced into a 3-0 lead inside 15 minutes after unselfish play by Thomas Ainsworth who fed fellow striker iam Richmond. Richmond quickly added two more to complete his hat-trick taking his tally to 13 for the season. The Saints had to withstand a fightback but a backline of Ben Brierley, Zak Graham, Matthew Fletcher, marshalled by Stephen Ashworth, held firm

RISHTON UNITED: In the Accrington and District League, the Under nines lost 6-0 to Wilpshire Wanderers with Harry Nightingale in goal keeping the score down.

The Under 11s were on the end of a 3-0 loss to Rossendale Valley Yellow. The scoreline was not a real reflection of the game with Tom Barley watching one effort hit the bar, the post and bounce on the line while Joseph Aspin also hit the woodwork. MOTM was keeper Danny Cobold.

The Under 13s lost 9-1 to Mill Hill Red while the Under 14s were 1-0 victors over Pendle Forest White.

The Under 15s lost 6-0 to third placed Burnley Rangers with MOTM Joe Dunn while the Under 16s lost 7-0 to Belvedere.

In the Blackburn Combination, Rishton lost 4-3 to Clifton, who finished the game with nine players. Rishton had led twice in the game.

The Reserves drew 3-3 with Fielden Arms while the A team suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat to Mill Hill.

In the North Valley Football League, the Under 11s lost 5-3 to Pendle Forest Tigers. Tom Bartley had put them into a 1-0 lead but second placed Pendle came back to lead 2-1. Matt Aspinall made it 2-2 before Hayden Walker got Rishton in front. It was short lived though as they trailed 4-3 at half-time before, with the slope advantage, the Tigers added a fifth after the break. MOTM was Patrick McGregor.
