JOHN Coleman was disappointed Tuesday’s home clash against Port Vale was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Referee Graham Laws said it was unplayable around tea-time and it has been rearranged for 17 March. It is the fifth home game the Reds have had postponed.

"I thought the referee could have waited a bit longer," said the Reds chief. "He said it was dangerous but it had stopped raining and history tells you our pitch can clear within half an hour.

"The ball was only stopping in two places and we played on what was like a swimming pool at Peterborough when we lost 8-2.

"I think he should have given it longer."
