ACCRINGTON Stanley are hoping to tie up a deal for ex-Liverpool midfielder David Mannix today (Thursday).

Boss John Coleman snapped up defender Aswad Thomas from Charlton this week and Mannix now looks set to return for a second spell at the club on transfer deadline day.

He came on loan in November 2006 when he was still at Anfield and played in the 2-0 loss at Grimsby and hit the post but damaged his knee ligaments and returned to Liverpool.

The 22-year-old has since been at Norwegian side Ham Kam but Coleman has kept an eye on his progress ever since and he is expected to be Stanley's final transfer of the day
