ACCRINGTON Stanley come up against one of their old rivals in Hereford tomorrow - and boss John Coleman is confident his side can break their Edgar Street hoodoo.

In all their battles in the Conference and League Two, going back to 2003, Stanley have never won at Hereford but will go there as the favourites with the Bulls currently on a 16-game winless run - a club record.

The Reds, despite their tax-problems off the field where they have to find £300,000 by the end of October, are currently in bouyant mood having won their last two league games which has moved them out of the drop zone.

And Coleman wouldn’t mind pouring more problems on Bulls boss John Trewick, with Hereford in the bottom two.

"We go there full of confidence despite the fact we have never won there - we want to put that ghost to rest," said Coleman. "I know they haven’t won for a while and we do not want to give them

a leg up but we have had them watched and we go there in high spirits.

"Hereford did really well when they got promoted from League Two and found it tough last year in League One but I am sure, after a tough start, they will fancy their chances of getting back up there.

"But we have moved up the league and we are also looking up."

Coleman, with the Reds in 15th spot, will be without Leam Richardson and John Mullin for the next two months. Defender Richardson has struggled with a pelvic problem for a year and he is having an operation in Yorkshire which should, finally, cure it.

Midfielder Mullin is recovering from an ankle operation while the club will monitor Jimmy Ryan. He had his stitches out of a deep gash in the front of his leg yesterday and Coleman will see how he reacts to that. Chris King (thigh) is still a week away.

"It is a battle with having these players out but they were missing last Friday when we beat Darlington and there were some outstanding performances. Michael Symes and Andy Procter were my picks but all the players impressed me.

"Billy Kee scored the winner and he is now pushing for a first team spot.

"He had his week away with Northern Ireland senior squad, mixing at that level and that will have helped him.

"And I am sure once Symesy gets a couple of goals on the bounce that will do his confidence the world of good."
