RORY Prendergast will have an operation on Wednesday - and then vows to be back better than ever.
The winger has been struggling with an injury since pre-season which has been diagnosed as a hernia and he will now go under the knife.
The 25-year-old is expected to need at least four weeks to recover but then says he will be raring to return.
"It has been sore since the summer but I have kept trying to come back and it hasn't been right. It has been frustrating as I haven't felt myself.
"It has just got worse and worse. I started the game on Tuesday night but by half-time it was killing me and I had to ask to come off.
"I just want to get back to what I was playing like last season.
"But once I have had the operation and had four weeks recovery and got my fitness back, then hopefully the fans will see the Rory of old."
