ROUND-UP: GREAT Harwood Rovers Under 10s got back to winning ways in freezing conditions at Mellor. A combination of bad luck and an outstanding display by Mellor’s keeper kept it goalless at the interval. Rovers stepped it up after the break, an own goal and a brace from striker Zac Geldard giving them a 3-0 win.

Saturday’s Under 12s beat Barrowford Celtic 7-0 with Nick Widdop and MOTM Jack Holligan celebrating a hat-trick each while Thomas Braithwaite got the other.

The senior side’s unbeaten run came to an end when they lost 3-1 to Duke of Wellington. The consolation goal came from MOTM Kevin Thompson.

Great Harwood Rovers will be holding their annual Dave Smith five-a-side tournament on the 13 June at Lynden House. Any teams wishing to enter can download an entry form the Great Harwood Rovers website or contact one of the clubs’ officials.

HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under nines were 4-0 winners over Greyhound Ford while the Under 10s lost 7-1 to Burnley West End on Saturday.

The Under 10 Badgers put 15 goals past Belthorn United. Max Verlander scored the first two goals while Dylan Liddle set up the third for Lewis Eccles. Both Eccles and Verlander went on to score first half hat-tricks with Andrew Bremner scoring the seventh - a screamer from the halfway line to make it 7-0 at half-time. Liddle scored a quick hat-trick to make it 10-0 before Eccles grabbed his fourth of the game and Liddle made it 12-0. Eccles then celebrated his fifth and sixth goals to complete a stunning double hat-trick and Verlander completed the rout by scoring his fourth. Eccles was the star of the show scoring six goals and assisting six.

The Under 10s Allstars ran out 5-2 winners over Blackburn Eagles. Jack Beech scored before Blackburn equalised. Kean De Gouviea curled his shot home to make it 2-1 before Blackburn again got back on level terms.  Lloyd Losardo hooked a volley over his shoulder to again put Huncoat ahead before De Gouviea got his second of the match from the penalty spot. MOTM Beech finished off the scoring.

The Under 11s lost 5-0 to Pendle Forest Green while the Under 12s won 3-1 against Whalley on Saturday. The goal scorers were Conner Demain, Matt Coo and captain James Kelly who was also the MOTM.

The Under 13s beat Church 10-4 in an entertaining clash. Defender Connor Presho bagged four while Dominic Hardman (two), Chris Dwyer, Ben Lord and Calum Rainey (two) were also on the scoresheet. Referee’s MOTM was Dominic Hardman.

The Under 14s won 7-1 against Burnley United on Saturday while they lost 3-1 to Crown Paints on Sunday.

The Under 15s drew 2-2 with Clitheroe Wolves.

OSSY RANGERS: The Under nines were outstanding in their last minute 1-0 defeat against Clitheroe Wolves. Sam Pope was MOTM.

The Under 13s Saturday team beat Rishton United 1-0 with a last minute Billy Poole goal.

The Sunday team were less fortunate losing 4-0 to Great Harwood. They did, though, only have nine players due to holidays. The Under 10s beat Mellor 3-0 with Tommy Parker, Harry Jennys and Tom Doran on target.

The Under 14s won 3-0 thanks to a Jack Simpson hat-trick and MOTM performance from centre half Joe Leeming.

RISHTON UNITED: The Under 11s put 12 past Paak United in a 12-1 win. Pat McGregor slotted home the first before Hayden Walker grabbed the second and Keenan O’Carroll scored a 20-yard free kick for the third. It was 4-0 through O’Carroll and Jamie Maxwell made it 5-0 at the break. There was to be no respite for the beleaguered Paak team after the interval. From the kick off, Matt Aspinall’s ball in fell to Maxwell for his second goal and 6-0. McGregor then got his second of the game before Paak pulled one back to make it 7-1.  Goalkeeper Danny Holden made a switch and went up front and he was on the scoresheet at 8-1. Aspinall then floated his shot in to the far corner of the net before O’Carroll completed his hat-trick. Joseph Aspin then scored two in two minutes to complete the rout. Rishton’s MOTM was Hayden Walker.

Elsewhere, the Under eights were 3-1 winners over Barrowford Celtic White.  Owen Hodgson scored the first goal but keeper Declan Mercer had to keep Rishton in the game although it was 1-1 at the break. MOTM Sam Steer scored to make it 2-1 before Kyle Essery scored the clincher.

The Under nines lost 8-1 to Pendle Forest Pumas while the Under 10s won 4-0 against Church on Saturday.

The Under 11s Blue lost 5-0 to Clitheroe Wolves Red, who are challenging for league honours with Patrick Wood, deputising in goal, making some good saves.

The Under 12s ran out 5-1 winners over Great Harwood  Charlie Feeney blasted home to make it 1-0. Rishton went 2-0 up when Ronan Dobson put Jack Goggins through and he slotted home. It was three when Connor McNab played in MOTM Goggins and he got another.  Harwood did have chances but it was 3-0 at the break. Ryan Cothliff scored the fourth and fifth before Harwood did finally score in the last minute.

The Under 15s lost 15-0 to Belvedere. They had five players missing against the top of the league and were only able to field nine players so it was always an uphill battle. Keeper Scott Corbett made some good saves but it was wave after wave of Belvedere attack and injury forced Rishton down to eight players at the end. Referee's MOTM was Scott Corbett while Rishton’s MOTM was Tom O’Boyle.

The senior first team drew 1-1 with Havelock but it was disappointing as Havelock had to play an hour with ten men. The reserve side lost 3-0 to high flying Worth Avenue and the ‘A’ team lost 4-0 to Belthorn Dog Inn.

In the other Rishton games, the Under nines Blue lost 2-1 to Globe Bullough Park while the Under 13s lost 1-0 to Oswald-twistle Rangers and the Under 14s were 3-2 winners over Oswaldtwistle St Marys.

The Under 16s lost 4-1 to Greyhound Ford while the Under 15s, playing on Sunday, won 1-0 against Haslingden.

ST JOSEPH: The Under 12s gave a great account of themselves against top of the league Darwen Rangers. Darwen took the lead early on but St Josephs hit back with a goal through Jack Bailey. Coby Fish and Liam Woodhead were strong but St Joseph’s couldn’t take their chances and Darwen ran out comfortable winners.

The Under 14s enjoyed another big win beating Roefield 16-0. Scorers were Liam Richmond (five); Joe Johnstone (four); Thomas Ainsworth (two) while Connor Southward, Stephen Ashworth, Matthew Fletcher, Ryan Woodcock and Zak Graham got one each.

ACCRINGTON GIRLS AND LADIES: The Under 16s managed a creditable 3-3 draw with a depleted squad at Penwortham South. There was a Player of the Match performance from stand-in goalkeeper Hannah Furey and goals from Sophie Jones, Amy Sturgess and Adele Ward.

GREYHOUND FORD: The Under 10s beat Rossendale Valley 4-2. Rossendale took the lead but Brooklyn Cross made it 1-1.  Rossendale again took charge but Greyhound won a penalty which Cross converted to make it 2-2 at half-time.  Matt Ingham scored his first of the season after the break and Greyhound sealed the win when Manager’s MOTM Cross rifled a shot into the top of the net. Referee’s MOTM was Callum Mcdaid.
