Ian Craney has targeted a Boxing Day return against his former club Morecambe after a swift recovery from a broken leg.
The vice-captain thought he would be out until January after the freak injury in training in mid-October but he has resumed training this week. He will be at Lilleshall next week and then it’s all systems go.
"I am over the moon," said the 29-year-old. "I can’t believe it really. I told the gaffer that I would be back for Morecambe and he laughed at me – but I knew I could do it as I have always been a quick healer.
"I am back running and sprinting and now it’s just about my fitness and I am determined to be ready for Morecambe.
"I am at Lilleshall next week, then get a week’s training under my belt the week after and then hopefully I will be ready to play."
