STANLEY lost 3-1 in their friendly match against UniBond side Prescot Cables on Tuesday night.

Reds boss John Coleman arranged the game after the Stevenage loss and used around 20 players as he had a look at his squad. Lee Madin scored the Reds goal but Prescot did hit back - the last goal a 20-yard blast.

  • FA CUP hero Andy Gouck missed out on the Football Association's Player of the Round award in the FA Cup. The Accrington Stanley midfielder was one of three going for the award but Wycombe's Darren Currie got 53 per cent of the votes for his double in their 4-1 win over Swindon. Burton's Robbie Talbot was the other player in the line-up.
