Accrington Stanley's Carling Cup second round clash with Newcastle has been pencilled in for Wednesday 25 August, live on Sky.
Sky have been in contact with the club and, once the police have approved it, the tie is set to be given the green light.
The Reds haven't been live on television since their Conference days and are expected to pocket a six-figure sum for being Sky's live game.
"It is the biggest game since the club reformed and Sky is a massive possibility," said chief executive Rob Heys.
"Newcastle are one of the biggest clubs in this round of the competition and Accrington are one of the smallest so you would expect it would be an option.
"It is fantastic for the club and we expect ticket demands to be high. We are going to sit down today and discuss tickets, hospitality, sponsorship, scarves and shirts as it will be a really busy time for the club with the tie only two weeks off. It's really exciting, after Fulham last season in the FA Cup, to have a team like Newcastle coming here."
