MANAGER John Coleman admitted he had not given up on a Third Division striker he is hoping to sign.

The Reds chief spoke to the experienced frontman last week but he knows the striker is also in touch with other clubs.

However, Coleman admitted: "I have not given up hope. He seemed interested when I spoke to him at first.

"I know other clubs are interested but I am hoping I can persuade him to come here. I should know more by the weekend."

  • ACCRINGTON Stanley reserves are in action tonight against Marine reserves at Great Harwood FC. The second string are on the hunt for their sixth successive win in the Lancashire League. Kick-off 7.30pm.
  • STANLEY'S match against the Barbados national side, booked provisionally for next week, will not go ahead as they have cancelled their tour.

It is hoped it can be rearranged for the end of the season.
