Stanley boss Leam Richardson is confident the Reds can win their battle against the drop despite falling to a defeat at Exeter which plunged them closer to the bottom two.

There wasn't a lot in the game against the promotion-chasing Grecians until sub Jimmy Keohane scored two late goals.

He opened the scoring in the 79th minute after catching out the Reds' defence and then capitalised on keeper Paul Rachubka’s error to make it 2-0 three minutes later.

In between the two goals a Lee Molyneux cross was thumped against his own crossbar by Exeter captain Danny Coles - a sign of Stanley's luck at the moment.

"It wouldn't have been a great spectacle for the neutral," said Richardson. "But we were comfortable for 79 minutes but then two goals were not great collectively or individually.

"We are not naive and we are not hiding behind the facts that we need to win games and they are coming thick and fast now and we know we need wins.

"We believed we could get a result at Exeter and we do feel hard done by as we kept it tight for so long and then it could have gone either way.

"But it's my job to lift the lads again, stand up and look forward to the next games. We have to stay positive."
