PIONEER 79 celebrated the year's swimming successes and 25 years of the club's existence at Accrington Town Hall.
Past and present swimmers and coaches attended - including Brian Evitts the "Original Pioneer" who was the club's first ever coach. Brian's son, Dave, is now Head Coach at Lancashire Swim Squad, where four Pioneer swimmers train.
Accrington Lions also attended and presented a cheque to the club which was greatly received as Pioneer receive little by way of donations.
It has been an excellent year for the club as they have gone from strength to strength.
The Mini League boys team won the shield for top boys team, which was presented to their captain Jonathon Marriner.
The East Lancashire Friendly League saw Pioneer tie for top position with Ramsbottom for the first time in years, but they finished runners-up on countback. 2004 captains Rob West and Rebecca Stones collected the cup.
And the duo were also presented with the Speedo North West Division Two Trophy won by Pioneer 79 after they earned promotion to Division One in a nerve racking final.
Pioneer 79 also rewrote their club record books as nine records were smashed in the annual club championships.
