Accrington Road Runners continued their run of success in team relays with a fantastic result this weekend at the Bradford Millenium Relay.

Fifty members of the club made up five teams.

Although not the largest club in the event, Accrington were the most successful taking both the mixed team prize – for the fourth time in five years – and the V35 vets team prize in record time.

In the mixed event they beat the course record by 10 minutes – thanks to Julie Brady and Philip Dunn on leg three and Amanda Parkinson and David Thornton on leg four breaking their leg records.

In the V35 event they also beat the course record to win the event by five minutes from last year’s winners Horsforth and finishing an impressive fifth overall.

Shaun Livesey and Graham Morris breaking the course record for a V35 pair on leg five.
