GREAT Harwood Cricket Club will be presented with SIX individual awards at the Ribblesdale League annual dinner and awards on Friday.

The Cliffe Park side finished runners-up to Read in the league and were beaten finalists in the Ramsbottom Cup with Read again collecting the honours. But the Great Harwood players will enjoy the night.

Allan Armer won the Highest Amateur Score; the Most Sixes Award went to Russell Whalley while the Best Bowling Performance was won by Stuart Maher.

One-time captain Paul Houldsworth picked up the award for the Most Catches while Matthew Houldsworth won the Second Team Bowling award and Geoff Allen for Second Team Wicketkeeping.

Baxenden's Simon Payne won the award for Best Fielding - this was given by the umpires with points awarded over the season. And Oswaldtwistle Immanuel's Chris Burton shared the Jack Cross Young Player of the Year Award. Chris is the opening batsman and keeps wicket for Immanuel and has been at the club since he was nine.

Meanwhile, at Great Harwood's presentation night, the prizes were presented by club chairman Terry Case and special guest of honour, Jack Edmundson, one of the club's trustees who has been involved at Harwood for more than 50 years as everything from first team captain to club president.
