PREMIERSHIP side West Brom have made a bid for Burnley's England Under 21 star Richard Chaplow.

The Accrington-born player was man of the match in the Clarets shock 1-0 FA Cup win over Liverpool midweek.

And Baggies boss Bryan Robson, who has been chasing the midfielder for some time, has confirmed the two chairmen are in talks.

The teenager, a former St Joseph's junior football player and wicketkeeper at Accrington Cricket Club, admitted he was reluctant to leave Turf Moor but knows it is out of his hands.

"It is all down to Burnley Football Club. I enjoy playing here and love the place. I am a local lad and a Burnley fan, so I am just happy playing football."

It is thought West Brom striker Rob Hulse could be part of the deal as well as James O'Connor, who is already on loan at Turf Moor.
