BAXENDEN are the Ribblesdale League champions after a superb season where they have lost only three games.

Ian Austin’s side clinched the title on Sunday, with two games of the season left to play.

They will be presented with the league trophy after tomorrow’s home game with Padiham.

Baxenden also won the Ramsbottom Cup in a triumphant season.

"We had our priorities - to win the league, win the Ramsbottom Cup and third was to win the Twenty20," said chairman John Irwin. "Two out of three ain’t bad!"

Baxenden missed out on the Twenty20 on Monday as local rivals Great Harwood celebrated.

"It was good to win something," said captain Russell Whalley.
