GREAT Harwood Town went down 2-0 at West View to league leaders Bacup Borough last Saturday.

Harwood gave debuts to newcomers John Moss and Paul Simpson.

They fell behind on 12 minutes to a Mickey Bartholomew strike - "a real Jeremy Beadle goal" according to manager John Hughes and Stuart Telfer sealed the points for the home team with a goal seven minutes into the second half.

Harwood, who don't have a game on Saturday, have another local derby on Tuesday evening when they make the short trip to the Anchor Ground to take on Darwen (Kick-off 7.45pm) for a North West Counties Division Two match.

Hughes hopes to have a full squad available for that match.

Harwood Town were due to play a friendly at Keighley Cougars' stadium against Silsden on Wednesday night.
