CHURCH'S professional Ruven Peiris thinks if bowlers Nick Westwell and Andy Bentley continue to perform then his side stand a great chance of winning the Musbury Fabrics Lancashire League title.
With two games to go, Haslingden are top of the league by three points and Church have home games against Lowerhouse and Rawtenstall over the next two weeks.
They need two maximum 12 points and for Haslingden to slip up against Burnley and Accrington in their final two games.
But batsman Peiris knows if he can continue with the big hits, then the amateur bowlers could help Church to their first league win since 1962.
"Nick Westwell has done well with 55 wickets," said the Sri Lankan. "Both he and Andy Bentley could be the match-winners for us. Now we have got to give it our best shot."
